"Diabetic food". Every. Single. Day.

Sound familiar?

Is this your plate right now?

Boiled egg. Boiled lauki. Two dry rotis. Everyone else at the table is eating biryani, and you're eating "diabetic food".

"Everyone at the shaadi was eating biryani. I took salad and went home hungry."
"No rice, no wheat… then what do I even eat with my sabzi?"
"Ghar mein do khaane bante hain. One for them, one 'diabetic' plate for me."

Since the diagnosis, you've heard the same list from doctors, relatives and WhatsApp forwards:

No riceNo potatoNo sweetsNo maidaNo outside foodNo mangoes

That's a list of everything you love. So it lasts three weeks. Then a wedding, a bad day or a craving hits, and you're back to the old food, eating it with guilt and checking your sugar with fear.

The problem isn't you. And it isn't your favourite food. It's how the dish is built.

Why nothing has worked so far

You've probably tried these. Here's why they don't last.

📋

The boiled-food diet chart

Built on removing everything you love. It works for three weeks, then one craving breaks it, and the guilt makes the next binge bigger.

🍪

"Sugar-free" products

Sugar-free biscuits and mithai are still maida, atta or khoya. The carbs are the same, and the price is double.

📱

WhatsApp remedies

Karela juice, methi water, cinnamon. Some help a little, but none of them fixes a plate that's 75% rice and roti.

💸

₹20,000+ programmes

Expensive coaching often hands you a generic chart that ignores biryani Sundays, office tiffins and family weddings.

⏭️

Skipping meals

Starving all day leads to a huge dinner, and a bigger spike. On some medicines, skipped meals can also cause dangerous lows.

🍲

Cooking two dinners

One for the family, one for you. It's exhausting for whoever cooks, and lonely for whoever eats the "diabetic" plate.

What's missing is a way to keep your food and change how it's built.

Rohit, creator of Eat Your Favourites Again
Why I made this

I'm not writing this from a textbook. I'm the guy with the boiled plate.

Hi, I'm Rohit. I was in the Type 2 diabetes range. Today I'm in the prediabetes range, and I still eat the food I love.

For a long time, our house cooked two dinners every night: one for my family, and one boiled, bland "diabetic" plate for me. It was hectic for everyone, and I hated sitting at the table watching everyone else eat the food I grew up loving.

So I went deep. I spent over ₹1,00,000 and countless hours researching what actually works for Indian food: which dishes spike, why they spike, and how to rebuild them without killing the taste.

My HbA1c9.6% → 5.1%

Eating rebuilt versions of the food I love, not boiled food.

This cookbook is everything I learned, turned into 50 favourites you can cook at home. One kitchen, one dinner, and food you actually look forward to.

This is my personal experience, not a typical or guaranteed result. I'm not a doctor. Your results depend on your body, your medicines and your doctor's plan. Never change medicines without your doctor.

Same dish. Different build. Different blood sugar.

      The science, made simple

6 levers that move blood sugar, without banning food

Learn these once in Part 1 (about 25 minutes of reading) and you'll be able to fix almost any dish, not just the 50 in the book.

      1

      Portion: the katori rule

Your steel katori becomes your measuring cup. No weighing, no apps, no calorie counting.

      2

      Pairing: no "naked" carbs

Carbs eaten with protein, fibre and a little fat digest slower. Poha with peanuts and curd is a different meal from poha alone.

      3

Order: salad → protein → carb

Same plate, different order. Studies show eating vegetables and protein first lowers the post-meal rise. It costs nothing.

      4

      Swap: part of the carb

Atta + besan + jowar rotis. Half potato, half cauliflower. Makhana instead of rice in kheer. Taste stays, the spike shrinks.

      5

      Cook & cool

Firm (al dente) beats mushy. Rice refrigerated overnight and reheated forms resistant starch. We explain exactly how.

      6

      The 10-minute walk

A short walk right after meals helps your muscles pull glucose out of your blood. After dinner, it's the strongest lever you have.

Something no other recipe book gives you

The Spike Test: find out what your body can handle

Two people can eat the same idli and get very different readings. Stop guessing. With just your glucometer:

      1

Check before you eat one of your remade favourites.

      2

Check 2 hours after your first bite, and note it in your Spike Log.

      3

Keep what works, adjust what doesn't. Then take the log to your doctor for a far more useful appointment.

      Questions

      Frequently asked questions

Can I really eat rice and biryani with diabetes?

Most people with Type 2 diabetes can enjoy rice in the right portion, with protein and vegetables, eaten after the salad. The book shows you exactly how. The Spike Test then shows how your body responds, so you're not guessing.

Are you a doctor or dietitian?

No. I'm someone who went from the Type 2 diabetes range to prediabetes, and spent years and over ₹1 lakh researching what works for Indian food. Every number in the book is backed by published research, listed in the Sources page, and the book works alongside your doctor's advice, never instead of it.

      Is it vegetarian or non-veg?

Both. 39 of the 50 recipes are vegetarian, 4 use egg and 7 are non-veg. Most non-veg recipes include a paneer or veg swap.

Do I need special or expensive ingredients?

No. Everything comes from your local kirana or supermarket: atta, besan, jowar, oats, dals, paneer, curd and everyday vegetables. Sweeteners are optional, and we suggest stevia first.

      Will this replace my medicines?

No. This is a food guide that works alongside your doctor. If you take insulin or tablets like glimepiride, talk to your doctor before big diet changes, because your dose may need adjusting. The book includes a full safety page.

How do I receive the book?

Instantly after payment. You'll get your access link by email. It opens on any phone, tablet or laptop, and you can print any page you like. It's a digital product, so nothing is couriered and there's no waiting.

      Are the nutrition numbers exact?

They're careful estimates calculated for each recipe from the Indian Food Composition Tables (ICMR-NIN) and USDA data. Real values vary a little with brands and portions, which is why the Spike Test is included.

      Can I get a refund?

Because this is a digital product you get instant, full access to, and it's priced at just ₹99, all sales are final and we don't offer refunds. If your payment went through but your access doesn't work, or you were charged twice, email us and we'll fix it right away.

Is it for Type 1 diabetes or pregnancy?

The book is written for adults with Type 2 diabetes or prediabetes. For Type 1, gestational diabetes, pregnancy or kidney disease, please follow a personalised plan from your medical team.

You were told to give up the food you love. You don't have to.

Build it better. Test it. Enjoy it, starting with tonight's dinner.
